While Stripe is excellent for credit card payments, many international clients prefer the security and ease of PayPal. By connecting PayPal to GetWealthStack, you ensure that you never miss a sale from a customer who doesn't use a credit card.

To connect PayPal, you will need to retrieve your API Credentials (Client ID and Secret) from the PayPal Developer portal.

Step 1: Get Your API Credentials from PayPal
  1. Go to the PayPal Developer Portal and log in with your PayPal Business account.
  2. In the top menu, click on Apps & Credentials.
  3. Make sure the toggle is set to Live (not Sandbox).
  4. Click the Create App button.
  5. Give your app a name (e.g., "GetWealthStack Payments") and click Create App.
  6. You will now see your Client ID and a Secret (you may need to click 'Show' to see the secret). Keep this tab open!

Step 2: Connect PayPal in GetWealthStack
  1. Log in to your GetWealthStack dashboard in a new tab.
  2. Go to Settings > Payment Gateways.
  3. Find the PayPal section and click Connect.
  4. A pop-up will appear. Copy the Client ID and Secret from the PayPal tab and paste them into the corresponding fields in GetWealthStack.
  5. Click Save.

Step 3: Configure the IPN (Crucial Step!)

The Instant Payment Notification (IPN) is what tells GetWealthStack that a payment was successful so it can automatically grant access to your course or community.

  1. Log in to your regular PayPal Business account.
  2. Go to Account Settings (gear icon) > Business Tools > Notifications.
  3. Find IPN settings and click Update.
  4. Click Choose IPN Settings.
  5. In the Notification URL field, enter your GetWealthStack main domain followed by a specific string (you can find this exact URL in the GetWealthStack PayPal settings page).
  6. Select Receive IPN messages (Enabled) and click Save.

[📸 Screenshot-instruction:] Capture the PayPal IPN settings screen where the URL is entered and 'Enabled' is selected.

Step 4: Testing Your SetupWe highly recommend performing a real transaction with a small amount (e.g., $1) using a different PayPal account to ensure that the payment goes through and the customer automatically receives their login details.
