In direct response marketing, guessing is expensive. You might think a red button works better than a blue one, or that a long-form sales letter will outperform a short video, but the only way to know for sure is to let the market vote with their wallets and email addresses. This is where A/B Split Testing comes in.

An A/B test splits your incoming traffic evenly between two different versions of the same page (Variant A and Variant B). GetWealthStack automatically tracks which version generates more leads or sales. Once a clear winner emerges, you kill the loser and scale the winner. This process of continuous optimization is how you turn a struggling funnel into a highly profitable machine.

Here is how to set up your first split test inside GetWealthStack.

Phase 1: Creating Your Variant Page

Before you can run a test, you need two versions of your page.

Step-by-Step Setup:

  1. Navigate to Your Funnel: Go to the Funnels tab and open the funnel you want to optimize.
  2. Select the Step: Click on the specific step you want to test (e.g., your Squeeze Page). This is your original page, or "Variant A."
  3. Start the A/B Test: Click on the A/B Test tab at the top of the step configuration area.

  1. Choose How to Create Variant B: Click the Choose variant page button. You will be given two options:
    • Duplicate original page: (Recommended) This creates an exact clone of your current page. Use this if you only want to change one small thing, like the headline or the button color.
    • Create from template: This allows you to select a completely different design. Use this if you want to test two entirely different layouts against each other.

Phase 2: Making the Strategic Change

The golden rule of A/B testing is to only test one major element at a time. If you change the headline, the video, and the price, you won't know which change actually caused the increase in conversions.

Step-by-Step Setup:

  1. Edit Variant B: Once your variant is created, click the Edit page icon next to Variant B in your A/B test dashboard.
  2. Make Your Change: Update the element you want to test. (e.g., Change the main headline from "Learn How to Lose Weight" to "The 3-Step System to Drop 10 Lbs in 30 Days").
  3. Save Changes: Click Save Changes and exit the editor.

Phase 3: Defining the Goal and Starting the TestGetWealthStack needs to know what success looks like in order to declare a winner.

Step-by-Step Setup:

  1. Define the Goal Page: In your A/B test dashboard, look for the Goal page section. This is the page the user must reach for the test to count as a "success."
    • If you are testing a Squeeze Page, the goal page is the Thank You page (meaning they submitted their email).
    • If you are testing an Order Form, the goal page is the Order Confirmation page (meaning they bought the product).

  1. Start the Test: Once your Goal page is set, click the Start A/B test button. GetWealthStack will now automatically route 50% of your traffic to Variant A and 50% to Variant B.

Phase 4: Reading the Data and Declaring a Winner

Patience is key. You need enough traffic (statistically significant data) before making a decision. Do not end a test after just 10 visitors.

  1. Review the Stats: Click on the A/B Test tab to monitor the progress. You will see the total number of page views and the conversion rate for both variants.
  2. Declare the Winner: Once a clear winner has emerged (e.g., Variant B has a 45% conversion rate compared to Variant A's 20% after 500 visitors), hover over the winning variant and click Declare as winner.
  3. The Result: GetWealthStack will automatically delete the losing page, making the winning variant your new, permanent main page. You can then immediately start a new test to try and beat your new winner!

The Architect's Pro-Tip

What should you test first? Start with the biggest levers. The highest impact elements on any page are:

  1. The Headline (It is the first thing they read).
  2. The Offer/Price (What are they getting?).
  3. The Call to Action (Button text and color). Do not waste time testing the color of your footer text until the big levers are dialed in.
